We are delighted that you are seeking information about us. We always welcome new members and guests to our club. To join or visit our club, simply come to any of our meetings.
Switch-On was chartered, as an affiliate of Toastmasters International, in May of 1980. Toastmasters International, Inc. is a worldwide non-profit organization dedicated to improving communication and leadership skills. There are over 9000 clubs worldwide.

Switch-On Toastmasters meets every Monday night from 7:00 to 8:45pm (except on holidays) in the banquet room of Carrow's Restaurant, 910 Saratoga Avenue, in San Jose.

Our purpose at Switch-On Toastmasters is to:
- Improve our public speaking and leadership skills.
- Learn to speak extemporaneously on any topic.
- Learn to organize, hold, and control meetings.
- Learn to give constructive criticism and helpful evaluations.
- Help each other to achieve our individual goals.
Our meeting attendance each week is 15-25 people.
Feel free to join us at our next club meeting. We welcome guests and the best way to find out about our club is to watch us in action.


Toastmasters will give you the skills and confidence you need to effectively express yourself in any situation. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent or retiree, Toastmasters is the most efficient, enjoyable and affordable way of gaining great communication skills. By learning to effectively formulate and express your ideas, you open an entirely new world of possibilities. Youll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations, and youll improve your one-on-one dealings with others.

New members receive the basic 10-speech manual. All members, as part of their local membership, receive a subscription to The Toastmaster magazine, published monthly by Toastmasters International, and The Fourcaster newsletter, published quarterly by District 4 Toastmasters.
